I recently signed up for a Facebook account in order to test out the service and see what the big deal is. If you use Facebook then let me know, so we can network with each other.

If you have any thoughts on Facebook itself, as a service and web site, then please by all means, share them.

Hey, I have found the London bit of it to be jam packed with students.
See you there Jark.

I like facebook better than myspace, it seems more regulated with what you can and cannot post. Myspace just takes up bandwidth and makes it easy for pervs to stalk people, but then again I guess it's as easy (or hard) as you make it for the perv in the first place.

My main issue with facebook was that it does (or did) have it's downs (I signed up for myspace because some of my friends are not in college) which has been fixed lately. But I disagree with the high school addition to facebook simply because I believe high schoolers seem mature enough to handle contact with people they do not know via the internet (looking back it's so clear that I was not as mature in high school as I thought I was).

Never heard of it, sorry.

I'll check it out when I get a chance, brotha.

I realize that was more of a comparison of facebook and myspace than a general critique of facebook. But when I think of one I think of the other. And I'm watching Harry Potter so I'm distracted and not paying total attention to the topic at hand :D

I was invited into it by some fellow Otis students (back when I was a student). I took one look at it and didn't care for it, since the majority of the discussions were completely unrelated to school.

People would simply talk about how hot they were, or what they're doing this weekend. I might be a minority, but I was hoping to be able to speak about school and design with fellow students.

As you might expect, I haven't returned to facebook.

The Public is more Familiar with Bad Design than Good Design. It is, in effect, conditioned to prefer Bad Design, because that is what it lives with. The new becomes Threatening, the Old Reassuring.

well it has it's positives and it's negatives, it has been a good way for me to reconnect with old classmates from high school, (that is if they had attended a college on the list) back then it was limited to college students, and only if they where at supported colleges. Lately there has been some conflict around the addition of the new notification of changes in the profiles of friends, aswell as notification of when a friend leaves a comment on someone else.

Although in comparision to MySpace I would have to say that Facebook is much better programmed, I rarely error messages in facebook and but I get them all the time in MySpace, also facebook has a cleaner look, it feels more professional.

I'll go ahead and send you a friend request.

I don't have feelings one way or another about Facebook. It's a networking site for College and Highschool kids. It's a way to keep up with that illustrious social clique or snotty art kid that you always wanted to see fail miserably at life or something. I'm a member. I'll poke you or something, to be friendly. :D

I flirt with fine art. She tells me that she's not that kind of girl, and I tell her that's because she needs one more drink.
