Just documenting my last screenshot of Mac OS X Tiger before I dive in to Leopard. Since CandyBar is not yet working in Leopard I will not have a pretty Buuf icon set but since Panic promised a huge upgrade in November methinks I can wait.
...Oh, too bad I didn't see this three years ago. You could actually just send the icons over manually :V at least for the applications and major folders, this would blow to do it to every folder you ever make, but just for future reference, WHACHA DO IS:
•Click the App/Folder with the desired icon to select it. •Cmd+i to bring up information. •Click the little icon in the veeeeeeery top left, you'll notice it develops a blue outline :V YOU'RE SELECTING THAT OH MAN •Cmd+C to copy that icon. •Make a folder or txt guacument for the sole purpose of containing that icon. •Cmd+i that folder, click its little icon and cmd+v to paste your custom icon. •Send it over to your new machine •?????? •PR..nevermind that part
Voila, the hard way that you didn't need to know anymore but might come in handy in the future
sorry i got excited, im a linux noob. but so far i think it is the best os, mac is really nice too and they share some fancies, but all in all the fact that it is a user driven open source operating system that stands up to the industry giants, and in many ways surpasses them is just amazing. And not to mention all of the awesome effects you can achieve with it. Im sure you have seen videos of what it can do.
linux does do nice things but it is in no way ready as a mainstream OS like OSX. ubuntu is almost there, slowly but surely getting polished with each release. i enjoy linux as a desktop but like i said, i do not think it is quite there yet.
i've seen videos and actually use linux on a daily basis. it's part of what i do.
sweet, i do agree its not as mainstream as the other popular operating systems, but I think if more people knew about how easy it was to install and use, and even knew it was out there. I think someday it will become really popular but till then well all just have to work to make it better. Keep up the good work.
