Artist's Comments

Taken while at a beach BBQ with a little get-together that ended up with around 20, or so, people showing up. The "party" was put on by a close friend although I ended up manning the grill to cook the burgers and dogs! :p (Lick) The party was a blast and I believe that we ended up leaving the beach around 1am, give or take. w00t!

Before the sun set completely; before the fireworks commenced, Anthony was playing in the water. I thought it was a nice view because of the contrast between the sun as it decided to hide it's beautiful brilliance, the calm summer water, the silhouette of Anthony and the majestic Mt. Fuji.

Great angle. Very calm water too. I love sunsets like this one. Great work, boss.

Sunset is nice and the lighting is great. Love how the kid is dark too. Nice shot. ;-) (Wink)

what a gorgeous photograph !

the colours in the sky and their reflections in the water, the clearness of the ridge of each wavelet, the haziness of mountain in distance - it just makes such an awesome photograph. the darkness of the boy in the water's silhouette makes me think of him waiting for the end of the world - the perfect moment before the world comes to pieces

to me, this is awesome, and it goes in my favorites now :) (Smile)

awesome shot, i dont really think the title fits it cause the horizon isnt that dark :o (Eek) anyway about the picture, the sun is in the perfect position, and the background is great.

Beautifull photo, looks like it has some nice silhouettes (sp?). One cool thing is that the water at the front looks like stone.

It's a beautiful photo, and I like how the person in the center of the photo rather than in some other area. Beautiful capture of the water, and the rest is all so very good. Great job! Thumbs Up Nod

first off, please don't take this offensively.

i have never really considered you a good photographer. you always kinda submitted so-so stuff, kinda snapshotty stuff. it's great seeing you progress and seeing all the beauty of japan. but you've never submitted anything really spectacular.

until now.

this is absolutley amazing! :) (Smile) from the movement of the sand and the contrasts of your son and the mountains, everything about this shot is bang on. my only suggestion would be to look a little bit into the rule of thirds, which is a photography technique that discourages from putting the focal point in the dead center. that's the only possible flaw i can see in this photo.

it also has to be pretty strog for you because of the sentimental value. what i would do if i were you would to buy this as a big print and give it to him in 5 or 10 years.

many people will see this comment (which is my longest one yet i think) and think that i'm kissing ass, but i'm not. if this was submitted by jackdeviant1 i would still fave it. like i'm going to now. :) (Smile)

keep up the good work and continue improving! Thumbs Up
